Ancient Greek lesson six:
Ancient philosophy and verb endings practice
Part one: philosophy
Ask the class "what is beauty" and encourage answers and discussion
Ask the class "what is fairness" and discuss
Using powerpoint presentation, introduce Socrates and his methods
Ask them to transliterate the word "philosophia"and introduce the idea of philosophy
Introduce Plato and the analogy of the cave and the shadows
Ask the children to get into groups and plan their ideal city
Part two: verb endings practice
Revise the stem and endings paradigm introduced last lesson
Hand out worksheet to practise adding endings to stems
If time, ask the groups to introduce their ideal cities to the class
