On Tuesday 1st April the cast of the highly-acclaimed show UNMYTHABLE will be coming to the East Oxford Community Classics Centre to run a series of workshops throughout the day as part of our Classical Storytelling Day!
At 4 -5pm they will be running a community myths and storytelling workshop. This will be suitable for all ages, and particularly aimed at primary age level. It will involve a fun and lively mixture of performances and activity rooted in classical myths.
As with all our events, this workshop will be free of charge.
COMPETITION! As part of our storytelling season, we are running two competitions!
MYTH IN 30 WORDS
The first involves summarising a classical myth in 30 words. The deadline for entries is February 28th. Please email them to the address above. A winner and runner up prize of a classical book will be given. All entries will be put up in the centre on the 1st April.
We are putting up "myth walls" around the centre displaying in a vivid way the appearance of a particular chosen myth in either literature, art, film, music or all of the above, as well as any other media you can think of! If you would like to have a go at making your own myth wall, please send them to us at the Classics Centre at Cheney School and we will display them in an exhibition!
We will also award a poster to the winner and runner up entry! Deadline for this competition is March 15th.
Both competitions are open to all ages, but please state your age as we will categorise and judge entries according to age.
